目前，权游第八季最终集在烂番茄（Rotten Tomatoes）网站新鲜度仅为48%，网友槽点不断口碑倾颓。为了帮剧迷减轻痛苦，权游官方甚至自己当起了“树洞”，在英国开通了求助热线。剧迷可以通过电话同该剧顾问对话，吐槽剧情。不过“树洞”收费也相对不菲，每小时“吐槽”价格约合人民币350元。（网友：要不我还是自己消化一下吧……）

那么问题来了，权游大结局槽点在哪？又是什么导致了网友口中“狗尾续貂”的“史诗级烂尾”呢？

来自英国《太阳报》的Nicola Agius在看完最终集之后，对HBO发出了灵魂拷问：

HBO, didn't you watch this series before agreeing to air it? I mean, you had two years! I want to find the writers, grab a bell, ring it at them repeatedly while chanting "shame" over and over again. Perhaps then they'll get the message.

中国网友也为自己制作了权游版“莫生气”：

After the final episode was aired, Chinese social media users even adapted a traditional Chinese doggerel "Don't Get Angry" in an attempt to calm their overwhelming dissatisfaction over the controversial plot twist. One netizen said, "I had to recite it three times to not lose my mind and smash the TV screen."

《华盛顿邮报》（The Washington Post）如此评价最后一集，“比起大结局，更像是在期待一场折上九折的清仓甩卖。”

Washington Post's Hank Stuever described the finale episode as being "less a finale and more like a clearance sale in which another ten percent is taken off the already-reduced stock of expectations."

所以权游最后一集（季）到底怎么了？

《卫报》（The Guardian）、《福布斯》（Forbes）等外媒不约而同地总结出了该剧令人失望的一大原因：

太急了。

So, what happened to the final episode, or season, of "Game of Thrones"?

Lucy Mangan from the Guardian commented, "This season has been a rushed business…It has wasted opportunities, squandered goodwill and failed to do justice to its characters or its actors."

"I think the finale's flaws were mainly born out of rush," Erik Kain from the Forbes observed.

剧集原作《冰与火之歌》（A Song of Ice and Fire）作者马丁曾在与《滚石》（Rolling Stone Magazine）杂志的一次采访中提到，约5、6年之前，他将故事中主要人物的结局告诉了剧集的编剧。可以猜测，龙妈、雪诺等主要人物的结局，的确是原作者的想法。但在剧中，人物在结尾前的发展均被省略，像排队领盒饭一样被匆匆发配。

马丁的《冰与火之歌》，是人物在纸面上立起来演他们自己的故事。读者看着每个人物在每个关口做了他们唯一能做的事，却依然滑向毁灭的结局。《权力的游戏》前四季的效果拔群，是稳扎稳打拍摄了原著前三本的内容。而当第四、五两册的内容被硬塞进第五季，整部剧便开始走向失控。

George R.R. Martin, author of the original novel, said in an interview to the Rolling Stones Magazine that he revealed to the show's creators "major points of the ending, five or six years ago." So we can assume the ending of major characters in the final episode comes from George R.R. Martin himself (hard to say that about Jamie and Cersei Lannister). But rather than following a reasonable plot development, every character seemed to be rushed to their doomed end.

比如牵动全剧权谋，信奉“混乱是向上的阶梯”的小指头，傻傻命丧临冬城。到了这一季，为了收束情节发放结局，各个角色的人设终于全面崩塌。

足智多谋的小恶魔突然变得单纯无脑，大义凛然，心系手足；

神秘的情报间谍瓦里斯变得忧国忧民，还成了小恶魔“最亲密的朋友”(closest friend)。许多挖了很久的坑更是无从填起。

最终季的另一个问题，是美剧的逻辑干扰了故事本身，操纵的痕迹盖过了人物的发展。

正如原著作者马丁的吐槽：

Another problem with the final season is that too much manipulation overshadowed the supposedly organic character development.

George R.R. Martin once gave his remarks on the show's script writers: "They have some particular thing that has nothing to do with the story, but relates to 'well this character has a very high Q Rating so let's give him a lot more stuff to do'."

In other words, the story yields to the market and popularity.

比如在谈到为何是Arya杀死了夜王时，导演David Benioff这样解释：“她似乎是最佳人选。在那一刻，谁都不会料想到她的出现。这一集里有非常多人们关心的角色……我们可以把人们的注意力都调走。”

In a commentary of episode 3 of the finale season, the show-runner and co-creator David Benioff elaborated on the decision of Arya killing the Night King, "She seemed like the best candidate, provided we weren't thinking about her in that moment. One of the great things about having this many people you care about in the sequence is that it can kind of pull people's attention and focus on people that they care about a lot."

"We hoped to kind of avoid the expected."

So it seems to turn out that "who kills the Night King" was actually a multiple-choice exam question, and the scriptwriters wanted to make sure you don't score on this one.
